Work with your MSS to develop responsive, custom workshops to engage your EAL students in specific topics related to your course.

In your classroom, promoting EAL student success promotes all students’ success!

Engaging all students in workshops together on topics that are particularly challenging for EALs, but are relevant to all students, builds an equitable and inclusive classroom culture and is a part of Universal Design for Learning (UDL).

Topics such as Group Work, APA Style, and Intercultural Awareness Training are valuable for ALL students. Discipline-specific workshops, such as How to Read Legal Case Studies (Criminal Justice) or Intercultural Communication with Families (Early Learning & Care), benefit EAL students and native English speaking students alike.

Open Workshop Lesson Plans

Below you can find lesson plans from workshops we’ve delivered to classes in the past. Read through to get an idea of what a workshop in your class might include. We can adapt workshop content and length to suit your schedule and needs.

You are also welcome to use these lesson plans, or any of the ideas in them, on your own to provide supports to your classes if that is more convenient for you.
